Marchant to lecture at Arizona Science Center

ASU Regents’ Professor Gary Marchant, Faculty Director of the College of Law’s Center for Law, Science & Innovation, will deliver a lecture, titled “The New Science of Epigenetics: How Your Environment and Genetics Combine to Influence the Health and Behavior of You and Your Children,” at the Arizona Science Center.

Marchant will discuss epigenetics, which studies how environment and genetics interact to influence not only an individual’s health and behavior, but also that of his or her children and grandchildren. Various environmental factors, such as diet, exposure to chemicals, smoking, and even parental affection can change how your genes are expressed throughout your lifespan, and also those of your progeny.

The lecture is on 7-8 p.m., March 9. There is free admission for the lecture, but regular admission fees apply for film, Planetarium and featured exhibition add-on.
