Map(ing) 2011 melds talents of Native artists, printmaking students
Map(ing) 2011 is a biennial collective community-based project for the sharing of culture, language, and identity. The seven-day event focuses on the collaboration of seven Native American artists working with printmaking students in the nationally recognized printmaking studios of the ASU School of Art in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts through Jan. 30.
Map(ing) 2011 also includes an exhibition, an artists’ public forum, as well as a fundraiser and silent auction. The collaborators spend one week together working in ASU’s printmaking studios exploring and cultivating an environment of communication, diversity, mentoring and acknowledgment of place and people. The artists create a limited edition of original prints with the collaboration of ASU School of Art printmaking students.
There is no admission price for any Map(ing) 2011 exhibition, public forum, fundraiser, or silent auction. For more information, visit: http://herbergerinstitute.asu.edu/events/viewevent.php?eid=790
