Library officials issue reserve reminder

<p>The ASU Libraries Reserve Service is designed to provide controlled, ready access to items that are required course reading. At the request of individual faculty members, these high-demand materials are placed on reserve for limited loan periods.</p><separator></separator><p>Reserve staff will retrieve books from the general stacks throughout the semester. Because of the high volume of materials being processed at the beginning of the semester, it is highly recommended that all required readings be submitted with the requests.</p><separator></separator><p>All materials submitted for reserve must be processed, including files that need to be scanned for electronic reserve, before they are made available for student use.</p><separator></separator><p>Processing is done on a first-come, first-served basis. This may take several days, depending on the length of the list and the backlog of other items to be processed.</p><separator></separator><p>To ensure timely processing, please submit materials early. Photocopies of copyrighted materials, such as journal articles and book chapters, may only be on reserve one time or one semester unless permission has been granted by the publisher or copyright owner and submitted to reserve.</p><separator></separator><p>Borrowers who plan on re-using such material should contact the publisher with their requests as early as possible to avoid any delays with reserve processing.</p><separator></separator><p>For complete reserve guidelines, contact the University Libraries Reserve Departments.</p>
