Legendary pianist to play Gammage
At 7 p.m., Sept. 20, ASU Gammage will bring audiences renowned pianist Andre Watts along with the ASU Symphony as part of its “New Times Beyond Broadway” series.
Watts was selected at age 16 by Leonard Bernstein to debut with the New York Philharmonic in their Young People's Concerts, broadcast nationwide on CBS-TV. More than 40 years later, Watts remains one of today's most celebrated and beloved superstars. He performs each year with the world's great orchestras and conductors, and his sold-out recitals and appearances at the most prestigious international festivals take him to every corner of the globe.
The ASU Symphony Orchestra Program is within the School of Music in the Herberger College of Fine Arts at ASU. The ASU Symphony possess the artistic integrity to present a variety of well-structured, entertaining, enlightening and challenging programs of classical music, contemporary American repertoire and chamber music.
