Law professor named chair of bar foundation committee

Professor Myles V. Lynk, the national Secretary of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation (ABF) and a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, was elected Chair of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on Friday, April 29. Lynk is the Peter Kiewit Foundation Professor of Law and the Legal Profession at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.

The ABF, the nation’s leading research institute for the empirical study of law, is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing justice through rigorous research on the law, legal practices and the law’s impact on society. An independent, nonprofit organization for more than 50 years, the ABF seeks to advance the understanding and improvement of law through research projects on the most pressing issues facing the legal system in the United States and the world.

The Foundation is committed to broad dissemination of research findings to the organized bar, scholars and the general public. The results are published in a wide range of forums, including leading academic journals, law reviews and academic and commercial presses.

Lynk also is a Faculty Fellow in the Center for Law, Science & Innovation’s Program in Public Health Law and Policy at the College of Law, and an Affiliated Faculty Member in Justice and Social Inquiry, the ASU School of Social Transformation. His areas of interest include business and corporate law, civil procedure, legal ethics and professional responsibility, bioethics in health care and law and literature.
