'Jackalope Ranch' blog spotlights ASU creative writer

“Talking too much about things ultimately can take away some of the creative energy, however, I’ve learned that I understand things best once I begin to talk about them,” notes ASU nonfiction writer Paul Morris in the July 2 edition of “Jackalope Ranch,” the culture blog on the Phoenix New Times website.

Morris, a faculty associate and director of the Master of Liberal Studies program in ASU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is one of the featured “cultured superheroes – and heroines – of metropolitan Phoenix” who appears under the heading “100 Creatives.”

In the Q&A, Morris talks about his last big project (writing about roller derby), the master’s degree program he directs (“It’s a joy to create grad seminars in nonfiction writing and film while helping people return to school.”) and some of his next big projects (translating the works of Austrian poet Georg Trakl and taking up the trumpet again).
