Hodge appointed to ABA post


<p><a href="http://www.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=65847">J… G. Hodge Jr.</a>, Lincoln Professor of Health Law and Ethics at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, and a Faculty Fellow in its Center for the Study of Law, Science, &amp; Technology, recently was appointed a vice chair of the ABA's Public Health &amp; Policy Interest Group.</p><separator></separator><p>The group provides leadership to the ABA Health Law Section, and to the ABA at large, in the area of public health and policy matters. Its members monitor developments on matters as diverse as control of disease and other public health threats outside of institutional settings, balancing privacy and other civil rights against public health considerations and education of the public concerning public health and policy issues.</p><separator></separator><p>The group also is involved in the interaction of state and local bar associations with local public health officials to promote public health and policy initiatives, and it provides a forum for members with differing educational backgrounds to focus on public health and policy issues and initiatives.</p><separator></separator><p>Through scholarly and applied work, Hodge delves into multiple areas of public health law, global health law, ethics, and human rights.
