Hinshaw appointed to ABA section


Art Hinshaw

Art Hinshaw, Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Lodestar Dispute Resolution Program at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, has been appointed to the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution’s Standing Committee on Mediator Ethical Guidance. The committee is made up of ADR practitioners, academics and leading ADR ethics experts from the public and private sectors.

It was established to provide advisory responses to requests for ethical guidance on mediation related matters based on the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators promulgated by the American Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association and the Association for Conflict Resolution in 2005. The committee periodically consults with the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility and the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility.

Hinshaw’s research and teaching interests lie in the field of alternative dispute resolution , primarily mediation and negotiation. His research bridges ADR theory and practice, and his teaching responsibilities include the Lodestar Mediation Clinic and Negotiation among other ADR courses.
