Hessick quoted in 'Wall Street Journal'

Professor Andy Hessick, associate dean for Research and Faculty Development at the College of Law, recently was quoted on an upcoming Supreme Court case in The Wall Street Journal article, “Hurdle for Health- Law Suit.”

According to the Dec. 5 article, Mary Brown, the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit against the Obama administration’s health care overhaul, brought by 26 states and joined by the National Federation of Independent Business, filed for bankruptcy in October and her new unemployed status could change her relevance to the case. law professor Download Full Image

Hessick said the court takes the status of plaintiffs very seriously, and could request additional briefings in light of Brown’s new circumstances.

MAACO Bowl tickets go on sale for ASU-Boise State matchup

ASU football season ticket holders and donors have been offered the first opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2011 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas. The game is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 22 in Las Vegas, at Sam Boyd Stadium, and will feature a matchup between the Sun Devils and the Boise State Broncos.
 
Ticket prices for the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl are $55 each.

ASU season ticket holders and donors were mailed an order form to return or emailed an order and instructions for ordering tickets online a few weeks ago. Order forms can be returned to the ticket office or faxed in to 480-965-6006.
 
Season ticket holders may purchase 2011 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas tickets on the web at sundeviltickets.com. At that site they can click on the top button (Purchase Single Game Tickets of New Season Tickets) and then select 2011 Football. After ordering the number of tickets needed, they can sign in to their account to complete the transaction.  
 
Tickets also can be purchased in person at the Sun Devil Athletics ticket office or by calling the ticket office at 480-727-0000.  
 
The general public can purchase tickets online or over the phone or in-person as well, but will be seated after Sun Devil football season ticket holders and donors are seated on priority.
 
The deadline to purchase tickets and be seated based on priority point level is 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8. Tickets will be mailed/shipped or ready for pickup in will call no earlier than Dec. 13.
