Help make hunger disappear at Homecoming block party

For the third year in a row, ASU4Food will attempt to make hunger disappear during the ASU Homecoming block party, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Oct. 27.

Spelling out the word "hunger" via a 30-foot long display of 4,800 soup cans, ASU4Food will take one can down each time someone donates a dollar to the United Food Bank. The goal of the fundraising activity is to make "hunger" disappear.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., says Meagan Harrach, the organization's online coordinator.

"Different colleges on campus will have the opportunity to adopt a letter that students in that college can focus on bringing down with donations," she says.

ASU4Food is a student-run organization that works with local food banks and other organizations on campus to spread hunger awareness and fight hunger in Arizona. ASU4Food is involved in several events on campus each year, including Make Hunger Disappear, to raise monetary and food donations.
