Hein falls in second round of NCAA Singles Championship


<p><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/hein_micaela00.html">M… Hein</a> of the Arizona State women's tennis team's season came to an end as she fell in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Singles Championship. After picking up a 7-5, 6-0 upset win over Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State, Hein dropped her second round match 6-1, 6-1 to No. 40 Bianca Eichkorn of Miami.</p><separator></separator><p>"Micaela pressed the entire time, which is unlike her," said 26th year head coach <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/mcinerney_sheila00.htm… McInerney</a>. "She had too many unforced errors and didn't get a chance to come back after falling behind. It was still great for to be one of the top 32 left and it is a great start for next season."</p><separator></separator><p>Hein entered the NCAA Singles Championship ranked 50th. After playing No. 3 singles early in the season, Hein quickly became a mainstay at the top of the lineup, where she enjoyed upsets over No. 6 Yasmin Schnack of UCLA and No. 38 McCall Jones.
