Hein falls in second round of NCAA Singles Championship

After picking up a 7-5, 6-0 upset win over Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State, Hein dropped her second round match 6-1, 6-1 to No. 40 Bianca Eichkorn of Miami.<separator></separator>"Micaela pressed the entire time, which is unlike her," said 26th year head coach <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/mcinerney_sheila00.htm… McInerney</a>. "She had too many unforced errors and didn't get a chance to come back after falling behind. It was still great for to be one of the top 32 left and it is a great start for next season."<separator></separator>Hein entered the NCAA Singles Championship ranked 50th. After playing No. 3 singles early in the season, Hein quickly became a mainstay at the top of the lineup, where she enjoyed upsets over No. 6 Yasmin Schnack of UCLA and No. 38 McCall Jones. She was named to the Pac-10 Second Team.<separator></separator>
