The 15th-ranked Arizona State women's tennis team (14-6) closed out the regular season with a rainy Pac-10 show down with No. 8 UCLA on Saturday at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz. Due to inclement weather, the match was postponed until 3 p.m., with UCLA taking the victory 4-2. With the shortened time frame, the doubles matches were not played.

The forfeit will count as a 7-0 victory for the Sun Devils and will give ASU the point for tennis in the Territorial Cup.

In a lackluster outing that saw the potent No. 3 Sun Devil softball offense get one-hit by Oregon's Jessica Moore, the ASU Softball team could not complete the series sweep Sunday, falling 2-1 in Eugene. Popescue took the loss for ASU to fall to 10-2 on the year while the Sun Devils hold at 37-4 overall and 4-2 in Pac-10 play. Popescue had a gem going through four complete perfect innings before running aground in the fifth inning after a lead-off single came around to score off a RBI double from Christie Nieto who was plated herself off a RBI triple from Kalyan Howard giving UO a 2-0 lead.

The lead was all UO would need as ASU's offense flat lined against sophomore Jessica Moore, who put on her rally pants to shut down the Sun Devil offense through five complete before ASU scratched one onto the scoreboard after Katelyn">http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/boyd_katelyn00.html">Ka... Boyd reached on a walk and came around to score on an error by Kaylan Howard to give ASU life. It wasn't to be though as Moore shutdown the rest of the high-octane offense en route to her 15-4 record.

The Sun Devils will now return home for their Pac-10 home opener this weekend where they'll play host to defending National Champions UCLA this Friday-Sunday in Tempe at Farrington Stadium.
