Hear from top business leaders in new Economic Club of Phoenix season

<p>A Nobel Prize winner, a top investment executive and the makers of many well-known household products are among those slated to speak during the new Economic Club of Phoenix season. Every year, Phoenix-area audiences are invited to attend the club’s luncheons and hear from some major names in the business world.</p><separator></separator><p>“We have a wide variety of speakers this season from leading companies around the world,” says Dean Robert Mittelstaedt of the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. “We continue to see great interest in what these experienced senior executives and academics have to say about the fast-changing economy and business landscape.”</p><separator></separator><p>The Economic Club of Phoenix (ECP) was founded by a group of prominent business executives called the Dean’s Council of 100, in conjunction with the school. The club is now the preeminent Arizona forum for the exchange of ideas about business and the economy. Its monthly luncheons and other activities offer Phoenix-area business leaders and others opportunities to network and engage.</p><separator></separator><p>This season’s speaker lineup (subject to change) is:</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Thursday, Oct. 28</strong> – Brad Casper, former president and chief executive officer, Henkel Consumer Goods, Inc./The Dial Corporation</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Thursday, Nov. 18</strong> – Thomas K. Linton, executive vice president and chief procurement officer, LG Electronics</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Thursday, Jan. 13</strong> – William Glavin; chairman, president and chief executive officer; OppenheimerFunds</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Thursday, Feb. 17</strong> – James O’Connor, chairman and chief executive officer, Republic Services, Inc.</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Tuesday, March 15</strong> – Elinor Ostrom, 2009 Nobel Prize winner in economic sciences and research professor, Arizona State University</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Thursday, April 14</strong> – Richard Adkerson, president and chief executive officer, Freeport-McMoRan Copper &amp; Gold, Inc.</p><separator></separator><p><strong>Tuesday, May 17</strong> – Annual Economic Outlook Luncheon</p><separator></separator><p>All luncheons will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first luncheon of the season will be held at The Westin Kierland Resort &amp; Spa in Scottsdale, with the rest of the locations still to be announced.</p><separator></separator><p>Guests are welcome for an $80 luncheon fee. The Dean’s Council of 100 Executive of the Year event on April 14 costs $125. Funds in excess of the cost of the lunch are used to support student scholarships and faculty research at the W. P.
