Harrison Jones named Pac-12 Diver of the Month

Arizona State diver Harrison Jones was Named Pac-12 Diver of the Month for November, commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Jones, a transfer from USC, is the Arizona State’s conference-leading 12th diver of the month all-time. This is Jones first honor at ASU and fourth total for his career.

In his debut for the Sun Devils, Jones swept every event he competed in during the month of November. The senior took first place on the men’s 1-meter and 3-meter against UC Bakersfield and in his return to USC.

However, Jones’ highlight of November was his first place victories on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. On the 3-meter springboard, Jones scored a total of 452.60 in the event to defeat reigning NCAA Champion Kristian Ipsen of Stanford. Less than two points away, Jones narrowly missed breaking the Arizona State 3-meter diving record of 455.40 set by Olympian and former Pac-12 Diver of the Year Micky Benedetti in 2009.  He also took home the top spot at the Wildcat Invitational in the 1-meter finals with a score of 413.40.

Arizona State swimming and diving returns to competition on Dec. 16 as they face Pac-12 opponent Utah at the newly renovated Mona Plummer Aquatic Center in Tempe.
