Grad students design dance choreography application

For one particular assignment in his Performance and Technology II class, Stjepan Rajko envisioned Rehearsal Assistant, a program that would help a choreographer record notes and review performances by themselves.

With professors raving about his idea, Rajko started looking into making it a reality. He teamed up with Jessica Mumford, a dance graduate student at ASU to collaborate on the project.

Three years after Rajko first envisioned his idea, they watched it start to "crystallize from a project to the real deal," Rajko said. Although the concept was originally designed for computers, Rajko and Mumford saw the possibilities that would unfold if they could create an application for smart phones.

"The accessibility of the [smart phone] platform was really helpful," Rajko said.
