GeoClub to sell minerals, fossils and meteorites


<p>The GeoClub at Arizona State University will have a three-day sale from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Oct. 19-21, in front of the Bateman Physical Sciences Center F Wing on ASU's Tempe campus.</p><separator></separator><p>On sale will be meteorites; etched stony iron and pallisites; fossils from the Green River formation; Banded Iron Formation (BIF); 2- 2-5-billion year-old cut polished slabs; cut, polished mineral spheres; raw minerals; amethyst from Brazil; and Ammonite fossils from Morocco, among other things.</p><separator></separator><p>Ten percent of the sales will go to the Ravi DeFilippo Memorial Scholarship Fund. DeFilipo a 2009 ASU geological science graduate, was killed Aug. 1 when he was working in a trench that collapsed at a mining site in Peru.</p><separator></separator><p>DeFilippo, who graduated cum laude, was working for a geological engineering firm at the time of the accident.</p><separator></separator><p>For more information contact Vicki Mills at <a href="mailto:vmills@asu.edu">vmills@asu.edu</a>.</p&gt;
