Furnish presents paper in Mexico City


Dale Furnish, ASU emeritus professor of law, presented a paper at the 35th annual meeting of the Mexican Academy of Private International and Comparative Law in Mexico City. The paper was titled, “The State of U.S. Immigration: Arizona SB 1070, the Supreme Court Opinion and Obama’s Dream Act Initiative.”

Furnish is among two U.S. jurists named to the Academy’s roster of 25 non-Mexican members. The conference was on Sept. 26, in Mexico City.

Furnish has an international reputation for his work in comparative law and International commercial and trade law, as well as U.S. commercial law.  Bilingual in Spanish, he has been invited to teach and speak in every country in South and Central America, and has served as Visiting Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the University of Sonora, Mexico.
