Fourth Winter ArtFest set at ASU's Tempe campus

November 23, 2010

More than two dozen artists will display and sell their arts and crafts at the Winter ArtFest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 2, on Hayden Lawn at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus.

The artworks, made by ASU staff and students, will include quilted bags, cards, bookmarks, ceramics, jewelry, children’s books and more.

Also, ASU’s GEOClub will sell minerals, and Women Without Borders will offer crafts made by women in third-world countries.

There also will be music by keyboard artist Kevin Snow, and a demonstration of Latin dancing on the stage at 12:15 by by Tujuan Netters, a champion dancer who has won numerous prizes in competition in cha cha, rhumba and samba.

Continuing a festival tradition, there will be a “hunt” during the day. Christmas bows will be hidden on the campus, with each one numbered. Those who find bows with preselected numbers will win prizes.

The Winter ArtFest is sponsored by The Devils’ Workshop. For more information, send an e-mail to Art_Fest@asu.edu or call (480) 965-4821.
