Former ASU standout Simon looking to make it with Phoenix Mercury

Former Arizona State women's basketball standout Dymond Simon has spent time playing professionally in Australia and Croata ever since two season-ending knee injuries and a concussion at Arizona State kept her from being called in the 2011 WNBA draft. Now she's back in Phoenix and has joined the Mercury as a training-camp invitee.

"I'm right in my backyard," said Simon, who joined the Mercury as a training-camp invitee. "I'm definitely in my comfort zone. I'm just trying to come out here every day, give my maximum effort and control what I can control."
