Farmers markets set on Tempe campus
10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Arboretum at ASU will sponsor two small farmers markets on Arizona State University's Tempe campus April 22 and 29, featuring ASU’s own home-grown dates, and organically grown produce from two student groups and the Arboretum garden.
The markets will take place from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days at tables in front of the Memorial Union. Up for sale will be boxes of Medjool and Khadrawy dates from the Campus Harvest Program.
The dates, in 8-ounce clamshell containers, sell for $3 per box.
The produce will include arugula, baby lettuces, squash, basil, dill, and cilantro from the Arboretum Organic Garden, located at the south courtyard of the Social Sciences building, maintained by Arboretum volunteers and members of two student groups – Barrett Honors Sustainability group and ASU’s Slow Food chapter.
