Energy-harvesting provides simple source of energy

Henry Sodano, an associate professor in School of Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical and Materials Engineering, leads research in energy-harvesting techniques.  It involves capturing energy generated by simple mechanical movements and converting it into electrical energy to power electronic devices.

He wrote about some of his work – including development of an energy-harvesting backpack – in a recent column in the Phoenix Business Journal.
