Eggers, Blaha qualify for NCAA Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--On the first night of the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, seniors Elina Eggers and Constantin Blaha qualified for the 2012 NCAA Championships. Eggers and Blaha will each make their third-consecutive NCAA-Championship appearance.
Blaha finished third overall on the men's 3-meter springboard with a score of 812.95 to earn a spot at nationals. The top-three overall divers on the 3-meter and 1-meter springboards qualify for the NCAA Championships. Senior Cameron Bradshaw finished sixth in the event with a score of 717.10. Freshman Kevin Olson finished 15th overall on the 3-meter with a score of 619.05.
Eggers finished third on the women's 1-meter springboard with a score of 586.80 to earn a trip to Auburn, Ala. for the NCAA Championships. Eggers finished behind Samantha Pickens of Arizona and Victoria Ishimatsu of USC.
The second day of competition continues tomorrow, hosted by the Air Force Academy, with the men's 1-meter springboard and the women's 3-meter springboard.
