Demaine to speak at APA conference


<p>Professor <a href="/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=5348">Linda Demaine</a>, of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, will address the 2008 Educational Leadership Conference of the American Psychological Association, to be held Sept. 6-9 in Washington, D.C.</p><separator></separator><p>Demaine, a Faculty Fellow in the College's Center for the Study of Law, Science, &amp; Technology, Director of the Law and Psychology Graduate Program and an Affiliated Professor of Psychology at ASU, will give a lecture, &quot;Science-Based Persuasion for Leaders in Education.&quot;</p><separator></separator><p>She will discuss the application of psychological findings on persuasion to common activities of leaders in education, such as speaking with policymakers, negotiating with local community leaders and groups, and altering dysfunctional social norms on campus.</p>
