Dean discusses new College of Law building on Horizon

Douglas Sylvester, dean of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, recently appeared as a guest on Channel 8’s Horizon to discuss the planned construction of the Arizona Center for Law and Society with host Ted Simons.

In the segment, “ASU Downtown Law School,” Sylvester explains that the goal of the center will be to engage the entire downtown community – the political, legal and business communities – and educate them on the importance of law in everyday life.

“Sometimes out in Tempe, the importance of law can get a little lost,” Sylvester said. “We want to bring this back to the city and its core, and being downtown makes that available.”

Sylvester said he hopes to see construction underway in June 2014, and completion in the summer of 2016.
