Cruz to participate in conference on social science research


Evelyn Cruz, associate clinical professor and director of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law's Immigration Law & Policy Clinic, will participate in an international conference on Sept. 10-11 to discuss social science research that examines immigration and its impact on transnational migration, diverse populations and communities, and law and policy.

More than two dozen scholars will gather at Arizona State University for the international conference, "Social Science Research on Immigration: The Role of Transnational Migration, Communities and Policy."

Participants will include scholars whose research interests reflect a variety of disciplines and contexts - from the United States to Europe and Africa. The conference is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

The conference will be held from 1-5 p.m., Sept. 10, and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Sept. 11, at the ASU Memorial Union, Cochise room 228. Sessions are open to the public, but seating is limited.
