Cruz elected to CLEA board


<p><a href="http://www.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=45422">E… Cruz</a>, Director of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law's Immigration Clinic, recently was elected a board member of the Clinical Legal Education Association.</p><separator></separator><p>The Clinical Legal Education Association exists to advocate for clinical legal education as fundamental to the education of lawyers. CLEA and its members seek to:<b></b></p><separator></separator><p>•<b> </b>foster excellent teaching and scholarship by clinical educators;<br />•<b> </b>integrate clinical teaching and extend its methods into the legal education program of every law school;<br />•<b> </b>reform legal education so as to prepare law students for excellent and reflective law practice;<br />• advance regulation of legal education that insures the continued vitality of clinical education in law schools; and<br />•<b> </b>pursue and promote justice and diversity as core values of the legal profession.</p><separator></separator><p>Cruz teaches Immigration Law and Comprehensive Law Practice, and she directs the College's Immigration Law &amp; Policy Clinic, which represents unaccompanied minors in immigration removal proceedings and received the 2007 President's Medal for Social Embeddedness at ASU.</p><separator></separator><p>Judy Nichols, <a href="mailto:Judith.Nichols@asu.edu"><font color="#0000ff">Judith.Nichols@asu.edu</font></a><br />(480) 727-7895<span style="font-family: Tahoma; color: black; font-size: 9pt" lang="EN"><br />Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law</span></p>
