Crow named one of America's 25 top thinkers

ASU President Michael M. Crow has been named by Slate one of America's 25 top thinkers.

"Named Top Right, the new annual list inspired by Thomas Edison, the popular online magazine writes, who had 'dual talents for inventiveness and practical thinking,'" writes Adam Kress of the Phoenix Business Journal.

"In the nine-plus years since Crow took over, the school has continually redefined itself based around Crow's vision of inclusiveness, as opposed to the traditional elite college model of attracting only the highest-achieving high schoolers.

"My 17-year-old sister-in-law from Wisconsin will start classes at ASU next week, and she'll be attending a very different university from the one I did from 1998-2002. She'll live in glistening Honors College dorms that didn't exist a decade ago, and may study sustainability – an area in which ASU is an unquestioned international leader."
