College of Law alumnus featured in Baltimore Sun

A profile on the career of Sam Renaut, a recent graduate of the College of Law, was featured in the Baltimore Sun on March 20.

The article, “He's not an athlete, but he's a player,” by staff writer Susan Reimer, tells the story of Renaut’s journey from ASU to Annapolis, Md., where he became a player agent for the National Football League.

During his time at the College of Law, Renaut started the Sports and Entertainment Law Journal and the Sports and Entertainment Law Association.

"I wanted to be a sports agent before I even knew what it meant," he said.

In 2010, Renaut attended the Sports Lawyers Association Conference in Phoenix, where he caught the attention of Ken Sarnoff, a well-known contract advisor for the NFL. Sarnoff offered Renaut an intership on the spot and began training him to be an agent.

Last fall, Renaut became one of six NFL certified agents working for PlayersRep Sports Management.
