Clery Act seminar to be held at Skysong

Arizona State University is hosting a seminar on Clery Act compliance by Security on Campus, Inc, from June 28-29 at SkySong.

The Clery Act requires United States colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses.

The seminar includes information on emergency response and immediate notification, missing student protocols, expanded hate crime reporting, partnering with local police and a presentation on new campus fire safety reporting requirements.

Clery Act compliance information that will be shared includes: collecting, classifying and counting crime statistics; ongoing disclosures such as timely warnings, emergency notification and sharing a public crime log; victim support services and security programs; and critical annual security report filings.

The seminar is suited to personnel from campus police, facilities, emergency operations, student affairs, legal counsel, admissions officers, victim advocates, residential life and human resources.

Cost of the seminar is $445 or $395 if registered by June 14. There is also a $50 discount per applicant for multidisciplinary teams of three people or more. Additional information is available at http://www.securityoncampus.org or by calling 1-888-251-7959.
