Chodorow teaches summer course in Italy

<p>Professor <a href="http://www.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=5326">Ad… Chodorow</a> of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law spent part of the summer teaching a six-week course in Comparative Tax Policy at the Monash University Prato Centre near Florence, Italy.</p><separator></separator><p>Chodorow and his undergraduate students, who were from Australia and Israel, studied tax-policy issues and discussed tax laws in various countries, comparing them in terms of fairness, efficiency and complexity. The summer courses offered by Monash, a Melbourne, Australia,-based public university, are a &quot;wonderful opportunity&quot; for ASU law students, he says.</p><separator></separator><p>&quot;It's something I would highly recommend to our students because of the chance to take a course from a foreign instructor and the interaction with foreign students who have an entirely different perspective on many of the common issues we face,&quot; Chodorow says. &quot; In addition, many of the students are studying law with no intention of being lawyers. As a result, they approach the material differently.&quot;</p><separator></separator><p>Chodorow's research and teaching interests lie in tax, administrative and regulatory law. He teaches a variety of tax courses, as well as Law and the Regulatory State. His research focuses on religious taxation and a variety of contemporary tax issues, such as the taxability of virtual income.</p><separator></separator><p><span style="font-family: Tahoma; color: black; font-size: 9pt" lang="EN">Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law</span>Chodorow is Vice Chair for Planning for the Teaching Tax Committee of the ABA's Tax Section and on the Council of the Tax Section of the State Bar of Arizona.
