Chesler presents to ABA Business Law Section

Professor Susan Chesler, of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, presented a CLE program for practitioners at the ABA Business Law Section's Annual Spring Meeting in Denver on April 22.

As the Chair of this CLE program, Chesler assembled an interactive presentation that provided participants with practical guidelines on how to revise form agreements, tailor them, and turn them into well-drafted and effective contracts.

The panelists addressed how to effectively use plain language in sophisticated contracts, how to fairly and effectively negotiate transactional documents, and how to handle ethical considerations that may arise in the drafting process.

The Mission of the ABA's Business Law Section is to serve the public, the profession, and the Section by furthering the development and improvement of business law, educating Section members in business law and related professional responsibilities, and helping Section members to serve their clients competently, efficiently and professionally.

Chesler has published and presented numerous times in the area of contract drafting and the role of the transactional lawyer, as well as various other topics relating to legal writing and pedagogy. She teaches Legal Methods and Writing, Legal Advocacy, Contract Drafting and Negotiating, and Intensive Research and Writing.
