June 17, 2009

Professor Charles Calleros presented a talk about the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law's new Our Courts project at a national conference, "Stimulating Transparency and Accountability," on June 13 in Bigfork, Mont.

Calleros spoke about the progress of the project, which was spearheaded by (Ret.) U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor to provide a free Web-based teaching tool for middle-school students. The goal is to increase the students' knowledge of the branches of government, constitutional rights, separation of powers and judicial review.

Our Courts ( is a joint venture of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, the ASU College of Teacher Education and Leadership, the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education and the Sandra Day O'Connor Project at Georgetown University Law Center.

Calleros' research interests include the intersection of race and gender discrimination and free speech; various issues regarding legal education, and international and comparative contract law. At ASU, he teaches Contracts, International Contracts, and Civil Rights Legislation. At the Universite Paris Descartes, he annually teaches short courses in Common Law Legal Method, Comparative and International Contracts, and International Conflict of Laws.
