Cable networks feature Hoelldobler's work


“Ants: Nature's Secret Power,” an award-winning film about these ubiquitous and awe-inspiring social insects, will be shown at 9 p.m. Dec. 10, on the Science Channel and Jan. 13 on Animal Planet. <br /><br />ASU Foundation Professor Bert Hoelldobler, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author in the School of Life Sciences, and his research are the focus for this portrayal of ants and ant nations – their complexity, social dynamics, versatility and majesty. <br /><br />The film, produced by Wolfgang Thaler and Adi Mayer Films for ORF Austrian Broadcasting with Docstar and WDR, won the special jury prize at the 2005 Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.
