Bender quoted in 'New America Media'


<p><a href="http://apps.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=23">Paul Bender</a>, professor of law and dean emeritus at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, was quoted in a May 11 <em>New America Media</em> article entitled, “Arizona’s SB 1070 Could Face Long Road to the Supreme Court,” by reporter Valeria Fernández.</p><separator></separator><p>The article discussed the recent decision by Gov. Jan Brewer to petition the U.S. Supreme Court to review Arizona’s controversial immigration bill, which has had many of its major portions blocked by an injunction. Bender discussed a different immigration Arizona law currently pending a ruling in the Supreme Court and how that ruling might indicate which way the justices lean on immigration issues.</p><separator></separator><p>To read the entire article, click <a href="http://newamericamedia.org/2011/05/arizonas-sb-1070-could-face-long-roa… teaches courses on U.S. and Arizona constitutional law. He has written extensively about constitutional law, intellectual property and Indian law, and is co-author of the two-volume casebook/treatise, <em>Political and Civil Rights</em> in the United States.
