Barraza gives presentation at health symposium

Leila Barraza, fellow in the Public Health Law and Policy Program, delivered a presentation at the 2013 United States Public Health Service Scientific and Training Symposium on May 22, in Glendale.

Barraza discussed the public health aspects of the Affordable Care Act with her colleague, Veda Collmer, a visiting attorney with the Network for Public Health Law, and also a Fellow in the Public Health Law and Policy Program.

Barraza said the conference was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear inspirational speeches from three former U.S. Surgeons General: M. Joycelyn Elders, David Satcher and Richard Carmona.

Barraza, a 2008 alumna of the College of Law, was a scholar in the Center for Law, Science & Innovation, and conducted legal research on autism and vaccine-related litigation.
