The Symphonic Carillon was dedicated as a memorial to those in the ASU community who gave their lives for their country. Jim Geiser, Veterans Chapter of the ASU Alumni Association, read the names of those who died in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan in a ceremony leading up to Veterans Day.

Following the reading of the names of ASU's fallen, Michael Hofeling played the Irish pipes at the conclusion of the event.

Members of ASU's Marine Option Platoon, of the Naval ROTC program, ran 238 miles around a 1-mile loop on ASU's Tempe campus to commemorate 238 years of Marine Corp history and honor the sacrifices of veterans. Michael Harting hands the guidon off to Robert Cubedo.

In addition to the run, cadets completed 1,775 pull-ups for the year the Corps was founded. Colton Krolak contributes his effort to the total.

The event started at noon, Nov. 8, and continued for 24 hours, finishing up on Nov. 9, when the entire platoon and members of the ROTC cadre ran the last 3 miles of the event.

Members of the ASU Veterans Club and ASU Veterans Association wave to onlookers as they participated in the Tempe Veterans Day parade down Mill Avenue.
