ASU Police official discusses volunteers' role in disasters


<p>Arizona State University assistant police chief Jay Spradling recently participated in the Toronto Emergency Management Symposium in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Canada</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Based on a program he co-founded while working for the Tempe Police Department, Spradling's presentation explored the use of volunteers during disasters and in emergency management preparation. The symposium, hosted by the Toronto Police Service in partnership with the City of <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Toronto</st1:place></st1:city>, featured local, national and international experts in areas such as risk management, crisis communications, counter terrorism and natural and man-made disasters.</p><separator></separator><o:p> </o:p></p>
