Families were invited to join the ASU Alumni Association for a Grandparents Day brunch with Sparky, Sept. 6.

Students at West campus show their Sun Devil solidarity by wearing gold. This fall, ASU West welcomed 385 new freshmen to its northwest Phoenix campus.

Students, teachers and parents of ASU's Preparatory Academy Polytechnic Elementary School gathered Sept. 9 for a dedication ceremony to celebrate a major renovation and expansion. ASU Preparatory Academy CEO Beatriz Rendon, parent speaker Mia Edrozo, principal Claudia Mendoza and students, along with President Crow and Sparky were on hand to help cut the ribbon at the ceremony.

The expansion of the ASU Preparatory Academy will allow the school to serve more families in the East Valley, adding additional classrooms for grades PreK-6 – enough space for 235 more students. Read more

This year marked the 11th annual Healing Field flag display at Tempe Beach Park – where 3,000 U.S. flags are set up to honor a person lost during the events of 9/11.

Downtown Phoenix is indeed Sun Devil Country. Students enjoy the urban landscape of the Downtown Phoenix campus, which is thriving 10 years after being built from scratch when voters approved the campus in a Phoenix bond election in 2004.

ASU track and field NCAA Champions Shelby Houlihan and Bryan McBride were honored at the Viva! Reception, Sept. 10. University Provost Rob Page (speaking) was on hand to introduce assistant track coach and head cross country coach Louie Quintana (center left). Learn more

Assistant research professor Crista Johnson presents on the Essentiality of Community Partners at the "Fostering Collective Impact to Eliminate Health Disparities" conference, Sept. 12. The conference was sponsored by ASU’s Academic Excellence and Inclusion Office in partnership with the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, the School of Nutrition and Health Promotion and the Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center.
