ASU offers affordable professional development program to educators, students, alumni


<span style="color: windowtext; font-family: Arial"><font size="2">In keeping with its commitment to provide on-going professional development opportunities, Arizona State University’s College of Teacher Education and Leadership now offers a variety of continuing education workshops. The </font><a href="http://www.west.asu.edu/ctel/learningForever/"><font size="2">Learning Forever with ASU</font></a><font size="2"> professional development program is designed to help educators, school administrators, students and alumni grow professionally, as well as earn valuable professional development credits. </font></span> <p style="margin: 6pt 0.05in 6pt 0in; line-height: 150%"><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">“Learning Forever with ASU provides access for teachers to learning new skills, continue professional career growth, and develop new insights into their own practice,” said Mari Koerner, dean of the College of Teacher Education and Leadership at ASU’s West campus. “Our workshops are designed to provide educators with the instruction and support they need to provide the best instruction for the children of Arizona.”</font></span></p><separator></separator><p style="margin: 6pt 0.05in 6pt 0in; line-height: 150%"><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial">Learning Forever with ASU provides h</span><span style="color: windowtext; font-family: Arial">igh-quality programs </span><span style="font-family: Arial">that </span><span style="color: windowtext; font-family: Arial">include rigorous subject matter content, effective teaching strategies and school- and district-based supports that ensure the career-long development of </span><span style="font-family: Arial">educators</span><span style="color: windowtext; font-family: Arial">.</span><span style="font-family: Arial"> Workshops include courses in instructional strategies, improving students’ math skills, classroom management, developing critical reading skills, and responsive and collaborative leadership. </span></font></p><separator></separator><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">ASU professional development classes are taught by highly experienced instructors including faculty, teachers, and educational consultants from across the Valley. All instructors are well equipped to help participants bridge the gap between knowledge and implementation. Learning Forever classes are flexible and designed to meet the needs of working professionals. Program fees start at $35 for a three-hour workshop, and classes are hosted at ASU’s West campus, 4701 W. Thunderbird Road, Phoenix. </span></p><separator></separator><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">In addition to pre-scheduled workshops, ASU will design a Learning Forever program to meet the specific needs of a school or school district, which can be hosted directly on their site.
