ASU offers affordable professional development program to educators, students, alumni
“Learning Forever with ASU provides access for teachers to learning new skills, continue professional career growth, and develop new insights into their own practice,” said Mari Koerner, dean of the College of Teacher Education and Leadership at ASU’s West campus. “Our workshops are designed to provide educators with the instruction and support they need to provide the best instruction for the children of Arizona.”
Learning Forever with ASU provides high-quality programs that include rigorous subject matter content, effective teaching strategies and school- and district-based supports that ensure the career-long development of educators. Workshops include courses in instructional strategies, improving students’ math skills, classroom management, developing critical reading skills, and responsive and collaborative leadership.
ASU professional development classes are taught by highly experienced instructors including faculty, teachers, and educational consultants from across the Valley. All instructors are well equipped to help participants bridge the gap between knowledge and implementation. Learning Forever classes are flexible and designed to meet the needs of working professionals. Program fees start at $35 for a three-hour workshop, and classes are hosted at ASU’s West campus, 4701 W. Thunderbird Road, Phoenix.
In addition to pre-scheduled workshops, ASU will design a Learning Forever program to meet the specific needs of a school or school district, which can be hosted directly on their site. Customized programs cost approximately $400 to $500 for a two-hour workshop, and $500 to $600 for a three-hour workshop.
“We are happy to offer this exciting program in partnership with the educational community,” said Koerner. “Our customized professional development program allows schools and school districts to reach more teachers with cost-effective, quality training designed to improve student achievement.”
