ASU, Mayo collaborate to advance Arizona's biotech industry

September 22, 2014

A collaborative project designed to strengthen the ASU-Mayo relationship, improve health care and aid in economic development is moving forward with leasing 150 acres of land near Mayo Clinic. The Phoenix Business Journal reported on the progress in its cover story Sept. 12.

The development of the campus, next to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, is a collaborative effort of Mayo Clinic, ASU, the City of Phoenix and developer KUD International, LLC.

"The goal is to create something that will rival the biggest and best biomedical campuses in the country," KUD International President Marvin Suomi said. "This has the potential to be one of the largest – if not the largest – research parks in the United States."
