ASU, LeadAmerica partner to offer high school students college experience

March 18, 2011

Arizona State University and LeadAmerica, one of the nation’s educational leaders of personalized experiential learning programs, have partnered to offer college-bound high school students the opportunity to experience the New American University firsthand through the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conference.

The 10-day conference is scheduled to take place June 20-29.

ASU’s approach to higher education is reflected in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conference, where students are encouraged to embrace challenges and discover solutions. LeadAmerica aims to give high school students a headstart on preparing for college.

The conference will combine college-level curriculum, interactive project teams, engaging case studies and real-world testimonials from business professionals and young entrepreneurs.

Students attending this conference will live on campus and take part in college life, explore their future path, discover new areas of interest and develop personal strengths. They also can gain the knowledge to help them make confident choices for what to study in college, what schools to apply to, and what to expect once they get there. Students will be guided by mentors who will offer insight into their own successes during college selection, admission, enrollment and ultimately completion. Representatives from the W. P. Carey School of Business, the Venture Catalyst and the SkySong Innovation Center will be present to provide students further resources.
