ASU Homecoming brings weeklong fun to all campuses
It’s a bird ... it’s a plane ... it’s the Arizona State University Homecoming parade rolling down University Drive! And we're bringing Sparky, the spirit squad and family-friendly activities along with us.
“Sun Devil Homecoming: All that Glitters is Gold” will feature more than 80 parade floats and 100 booths hosted by various ASU departments across all four campuses.
Alumnus Joe “jumping” Caldwell will serve as grand marshal over the annual parade on Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. prior to the football game kickoff. Caldwell, the only Sun Devil to earn a basketball gold medal for his 1964 efforts in Tokyo, played at ASU from 1961-1964 and remains the highest-drafted Sun Devil in history, as he was taken with the second pick in the 1964 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons.
The block party will begin immediately after the parade at noon and is set to feature live performances, student-athlete autographs sessions, inflatables for the little ones and much more. The celebration will culminate with the ASU vs. Washington football game in Sun Devil Stadium at 3 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in person or by calling the Sun Devil Ticket Office at 480-727-0000.
