ASU helping to build the Arizona knowledge economy

November 06, 2015

Arizona State University brings thousands of students to the Phoenix metro area each year.

But it also has a role in bringing thousands of jobs to the Valley as well.

The Phoenix Business Journal recently highlighted the part ASU and Maricopa Corporate College have played in helping make the Phoenix area more attractive to companies looking to relocate.

Specifically, ASU's strength in technology transfer was cited as a reason companies choose to plant here. The university's advice, graduates and research and development were also reasons given.

"ASU is a knowledge enterprise," university CFO Morgan Olsen is quoted as saying. "It is by far the largest asset we offer businesses and is our mission as a research university."
