ASU Gammage announces new season of shows


<p>ASU Gammage has secured its lineup for the 2010-2011 season, which include 2009 Tony Award winners "Billy Elliot the Musical," "Young Frankenstein" and "Hair."</p><separator></separator><p>The season lineup includes:</p><separator></separator><p>• "Young Frankenstein" - Sept. 27-Oct. 30. This re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to create a monster – but not without scary and hilarious complications.</p><separator></separator><p>• "Hair" - Dec. 7-12. This musical about a group of young Americans searching for peace and love in a turbulent time has struck a resonant chord with audiences young and old.</p><separator></separator><p>• "Shrek the Musical" - Jan. 4-9. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess.</p><separator></separator><p>• "9 to 5: The Musical" - Feb. 22-27. This musical tells the story of three unlikely friends who conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do – even in a man's world.</p><separator></separator><p>• "Fiddler on the Roof" - March 29-April 3. A timeless classinc, which includes songs “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “If I Were A Rich Man” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”</p><separator></separator><p>• "Billy Elliot the Musical" - April 27-May 8. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising passion that inspires his family and his whole community.</p><separator></separator><p>• "Mamma Mia!" - May 17-22. This smash-hit musical offers the time of your life with ABBA’s greatest hits, including “Dancing Queen,” “S.O.S.,” “Super Trouper,” “Take A Chance on Me” and “The Winner Takes It All.”</p><separator></separator><p>Special engagements include:</p><separator></separator><p>• "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" - Oct. 19-24. This classic story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including “Be Our Guest” and the beloved title song.</p><separator></separator><p>• "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" - Nov. 16-21. The Grinch discovers there's more to Christmas than he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic.</p><separator></separator><p>• "Les Miserables" - June 7-12.
