ASU drive serves ‘need’ families

August 01, 2007

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is participating in the “Pack to School” drive sponsored by Gov. Janet Napolitano and the Salvation Army, and officials with the college have invited the ASU community to donate items, as well.

The drive collects school supplies for children whose families cannot afford them.

Items needed include No. 2 pencils and erasers, nontoxic paints, spiral notebooks, portfolio binders and loose-leaf paper, activity books, rulers, blunt scissors, glue sticks, calculators, crayons and makers, backpacks, and age-appropriate dictionaries and thesauruses.

The collection runs through Aug. 3. Drop-off locations on the Tempe campus include Agriculture Building (AG) room 272; Life Sciences (LS) E-wing, rooms 218 and 226; Wilson Hall (WILSN) lobby; University Services Building (USB) lobby; Speech and Hearing Sciences, Lattie Coor Hall (COOR) room 2211; Global Institute of Sustainability, Tempe Center (TMPCT) room 151; and Fulton Center (FULTN) suites 110, 135 and 145.
