September 10, 2004
ASU's Nutrition, Exercise and Wellness, and Education departments located at the Polytechnic campus held a competitive food drive that has reaped 1,860 pounds of food for the Pappas School for homeless children in Tempe. Nutrition graduate students Kristin Smith, right, and Kristin Bio assist faculty and staff with sorting the food collected into categories Sept. 9, before the product was picked up by the Pappas School Sept. 10. Enough food was collected to provide 1,430 meals for the students and their families (source: United Food Bank in Mesa).
