ASU Book Group begins 3rd year
The ASU Book Group, which is open to all ASU faculty, staff and students, will have its first meeting of the year at noon, Sept. 27, in the Durham Language and Literature Building, room 316.
The Book Group meets the last Friday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. Authors are generally present to discuss their books.
For the September meeting, members will share their summer reading and discuss ideas for the coming year.
The October book is “The Second Chasm: A Soul’s Troubled Journey from Despair to Healing,” by Karen Kibler, an assistant research professor at ASU and the ASU biosafety manager. The book is a compelling memoir of Kibler’s life as she experiences depression, divorce and the death of her second husband. Copies are available through Amazon or Kibler (Karen.kibler@asu.edu).
The ASU Book Group is sponsored by The Department of English and Piper Center for Creative Writing. For more information, contact Judith Smith at jps@asu.edu or (480) 860-1847.
