ASU associate professor receives Industrial Technology award
Larry Olson, associate professor in the Environmental Technology Management program, was named one of the 2005 Outstanding Professor of Industrial Technology recipients by the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT). The award, which was presented in November at the NAIT Convention in St. Louis, recognizes professors who excel in the areas of teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and service.
"Perhaps one of the more innovative teachers at ASU Polytechnic, Larry has spearheaded the first Polytechnic campus E-learning-based degree program," said Department of Technology Management Chair Tom Schildgen. "He has facilitated the success of many undergraduate and graduate students over the years in both chemistry as well as Environmental Technology Management." Olson received the 2004-05 Award of Excellence for Teaching at the ASU Polytechnic campus and the 2003 ASU College of Extended Education’s Outstanding Faculty Award.
NAIT is recognized as the premier professional industrial technology association that promotes industrial technology in business, industry, education, and government. NAIT is the accrediting body for industrial technology programs at universities, colleges and technical institutions.
