Arizona State University will keep in-state tuition low
Students gathered on the Arizona State University Downtown campus yesterday as President Michael Crow spoke. Dr. Crow answered questions regarding tuition, campus development, and the future of the university. Downtown Devil covered the story.
When asked how ASU’s tuition costs, Dr. Crow stated that there would be no in-state tuition increase, and an increase of only 1% for others. Dr. Crow was quoted as saying, “the notion for the in-state students is to keep that cost as low as possible so that the average in-state tuition for an undergraduate student is under $4,000 a year.”
President Crow also emphasized that ASU’s model for tuition is reliant on financial aid, which makes the pursuit of higher education at the university accessible to lower income students. Dr. Crow also stressed that these tuition plans are not broad concepts, “these are things that we’ve already done.”
