Arizona Real Estate Center Moves East
Mesa, Ariz.-The Arizona State University real estate program and Arizona Real Estate Center's (AREC) move from the Tempe campus to ASU's Polytechnic campus in Mesa is complete.
The program's move to the Polytechnic campus will help augment the evolving business administration program there.
"With the applied technical and professional programs offered at the Polytechnic campus, real estate fits with the mission of the campus more appropriately," said Jay Butler, associate professor and director of the Arizona Real Estate Center.
Some real estate courses began being offered at the Polytechnic campus in January 2004, prior to ASU President Michael Crow's announcement in April that the program and the center would move.
The Arizona Real Estate Center will continue to conduct and publish three quarterly studies on the Phoenix real estate market -- The Phoenix Metropolitan Housing Study, The Phoenix Metropolitan Office Study and The Phoenix Metropolitan Retail Study. In addition to the quarterly studies, AREC will continue to research and publish on various Greater Phoenix housing topics, including sales activity, affordability, appreciation and construction activity throughout Arizona.
The faculty and staff along with the Arizona Real Estate Center are now housed in School of Applied Arts & Sciences at the campus. The new contact information is:
